Data Integration Engineer

As a Data Integration Engineer in this contract role you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the customers business objectives.
Will work in at team setting using Agile delivery methods to combine various types and formats of data derived from a variety of sources across the customer IT infrastructure to provide unified, fact based analytics.
This role will be expected to consolidate data from multiple sources into single datasets to be utilized by a number of customer stakeholders and other product teams.
Work will initially involve development of a proof-of-concept, prototype or minimal viable product (MVP) in order to demonstrate long term viability of customer data integration needs.
Position is contingent upon contract award
Stitch and normalize sparse and noisy data across various data sources
Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
Design, develop, test implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
Utilize programming languages like Python, Java and Open-Source RDBMS and Cloud-Native data storage and transformation technologies.

Collaborate with data analysts, business subject matter experts and customer POC to align data integration efforts with successful delivery of customer product.

Build trust and strong relationships at all levels
Strike a balance between critical thinking and actual hands-on analyses
Must have design, developed, and supported a complex software solution
Research mindset - ability to structure a project from idea to experimentation to prototype to implementation
Proficient in SQL
Proficient in dimensional/multidimensional data modeling
Familiarity with all stages of the product development cycle
Experience maintaining engineering best practices, including defect tracking, design reviews, and appropriate testing
Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques, software languages, and application programming interfaces.

Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.

Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.

Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems.

Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of issues.

Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents.

Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.

Working knowledge of Cloud Architecture, Microservice Architecture, Databases (SQL and NoSQL), and Integration/Design patterns (Batch, Event Driven, Real-time).

Ability to research/process information/learn complex architectures quickly and apply those learnings to answer questions/provide recommendations to non-technical partners.

Ability to design an integration solution and gather consensus across multiple teams to implement.

Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects.

Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models.

Ability and skill to execute complex data manipulation efforts of large scope including data transformation, data pipeline creation, and the configuration of cloud native data services.

Independently determines method for completion of new projects.
Receives guidance on overall project objectives.

Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience 6
years experience in related field PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
The ideal candidate will have experience in Mulesoft and a deep understanding of data integration concepts and technologies, as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Knowledge of and some hands on data integration experience with Department of Defense Weapon System maintenance and supply systems information

years of experience in designing and developing integrations between various systems and applications
Strong experience with integration technologies such as REST APIs, SOAP, JSON, XML, and ETL tools
