72As a PCT, the PCT/HUC works under the direction of RN/LPN as part of the health care team to assist with patient care activities.
The tasks delegated are those that are in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing set by Miami Valley Hospital.
As a HUC, the PCT/HUC coordinates the day to day clerical activities of the nursing unit.
The HUC directly/indirectly impacts the patient outcomes and care provided to patients/families/significant others.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Satisfactory completion of a medical terminology course within the last five years (exceptions:
RN, LPN, nursing students who have completed one clinical rotation.
) Licensure:
N/A
Experience:
a) Is a state tested nursing assistant or:
has successfully completed a NA course or state testing prep within the past six months (exception MVH employees who took the course prior to revision of this policy) or:
b) Six months experience in an acute care setting in any category within the past three years or:
c) Successful completion of Basic Care of Patients (BCOP) course provided by Miami Valley Hospital.
If medical terminology class was taken more than five years ago, must be able to document current use of medical terminology, OR two years experience as a HUC in an acute care setting.
Certification:
Current CPR certification required at time of hire Recommended Skills Cpr Clinical Works Medical Terminology Nursing Patient Care Technician Oncology Pharmacy Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
