AFRL/RY seeks to hire a mid-level, DR-0801 General Engineer in Dayton, Ohio.
The incumbent will serve as Facility Engineer for the Sensors Directorate.
Position duties include but are not limited to:
Performs professional engineering work involving the application of electronics, electrical and other engineering disciplines to provide comprehensive facility engineering support for the Engineering Section, Infrastructure Support Branch.
Applies engineering knowledge to all aspects of facility electrical systems including:
power distribution; fire evacuation/suppression; broadcast notification; lighting; electronic controls including Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, security access and video surveillance, and system monitoring.
Prioritizes directorate work requests and projects and advises senior leaders and CE representatives on fiscal year plans and alignment of resources.
Functions as project engineer on planned projects ensuring user objectives and requirements are achieved.
Scope of projects includes in-house contracts and/or CE services involving facility repairs, modifications, and upgrades (excluding routine facility maintenance items) in electrical and multiple other disciplines.
Plans and implements the installation of complex electronic systems and modifies equipment to adapt to novel site characteristics.
Leads in the development, evaluation, and implementation of new or modified electronic systems to improve efficiency/effectiveness of system performance.
Performs SME duties independently on assigned branch contracts.
Advises AFRL facility operations and engineering teams on issues that involve CE, including operations, engineering, contracts, and exercises.

Required Qualifications United States Citizenship Position will be filled using occupational series within the SCIENTIST AND ENGINEERING career field.
Applicant must be able to meet the OPM Qualification Standards of the position being filled.

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade DR-01, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes the ability to interpret, select.
and apply a variety of scientific and/or engineering principles and guidelines.
Analyze, investigate,and delineate specifics of the problem/requirement encountered and devises ways to meeting technical requirements and develop technical programs to accomplish objectives.
Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the AcquisitionProfessional Development Program (APDP) requiring Engineering and Technical Management (N) Level/Tier 2 (Practitioner) Non-Critical certification.
The selectee must meet or be capable of achieving acquisition certification within 60 months after assignment.
This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 continuous learning points every 24 months.
