Maintenance Supervisor


Our client is a custom manufacturer of flexible film packaging. They develop packaging and systems that keep produce, meat, dairy and other foods fresher longer, while blocking out contaminants.


This client is looking to hire a Maintenance Supervisor for their Dayton, OH area facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the Maintenance department for a 24/7 manufacturing operation; ensuring that work is accomplished safely, efficiently, and effectively on equipment with a strong emphasis on safe work practices. S/he will have experience with equipment and electronics such as: AC/DC drive and motor systems, tension and heat control systems, air compressors, chillers, grinders, water pumps, PLC/HMI controls, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulics experience. S/he will report directly to the Vice President of Manufacturing, but will communicate effectively with all departments to support the overall productivity of the company.


Primary
Responsibilities:
oSchedule Preventative Maintenance and Predictive analysis, as well as the repair of equipment that isn't working or isn't working properly.
oOversee outside contractors as needed
oEnsure spare parts and preventative maintenance items are on hand and managed.
oTrain maintenance staff on maintenance items, and leads in a hands-on way.
oSupport and enforce facility safety systems.
oRegularly communicates with equipment manufacturers, regulatory agencies, parts suppliers, production leads and managers to optimize plant performance.
oOversee equipment maintenance of all mechanical operations at the facility.
oOrder repair parts as needed for maintenance projects or breakdowns.
oMaintain up-to-date critical parts inventory.
oResponsible for coordinating/completing contracted and in-house electrical repairs and upgrades, including those related to plant controls
oActively research potential upgrades and fine-tuning of the existing plant to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency availability and reporting
oWork closely with vendors to meet deadlines and complete capital improvement projects
oFollow all safety guidelines regulated by OSHA, or other regulatory agencies.
oAssists in improving the process and quality of existing or new equipment. Takes part in the pre-acceptance and acceptance of new machinery as needed.
oMust be flexible to work any shift, overtime and weekends as needed.

Requirements and Skills:
oGeneral knowledge of advanced mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic skills.
oCandidate must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills, as well as initiative and the ability to delegate decision making and other responsibilities.
oAble to handle multiple time sensitive projects and issues. Must work well under pressure.
oService oriented and possessing a high level of integrity and quality output
oComputer literate with proficiency in MS Word & Excel
oAbility to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical procedure manuals or governmental regulations.
oAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from members of management.
oAbility to read metric drawings, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic diagrams



Educational/Experience Requirements
oAt least 5 years of Supervisory experience is required
oAt least 3 years of Maintenance experience in Blown Film Extrusion experience is preferred or a least similar type of Manufacturing is highly desired. For Example: injection molding, extrusion, compounding, recycling, blow molding, thermoforming or a continuous process like paper, roofing; or other heavy industrial maintenance experience.
oStrong knowledge of maintaining manufacturing equipment such as extruders, motors, drives, air compressors, chillers, grinders, water pumps, PLC/HMI controls, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulics experience.
oDirect involvement with safety systems as it relates to maintenance (supervision), such as LOTO

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
