Role Summary/Purpose
In this role, you will :
Essential Responsibilities
Installs and repairs electrical systems and electronic components of industrial machinery equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, electrical and electronic test equipment
Repairs and maintains mechanical and hydraulic components of production machines and equipment, following blueprint and specifications and using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
Occasionally sets up and operates metalworking tools, such as grinders, drill press, and mills to make or repair parts
Constructs and repairs structural woodwork and equipment working from blueprints, drawings or verbal instructions
Paints as needed
Installs variety of items for office and factory use
Observes and records readings if instruments such as thermometers, thermocouples, air flow meters, voltmeters, ammeters, and pressure and draft gauges
Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes
Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations including rigging
Troubleshoots control systems and programs via ladder logic
Analyzes current plant layout, and contributes ideas on efficient working cell reorganization, also offering professional opinions on roof load considerations, utility and electric power distributions, future equipment installs, best practices, with execution of items in a punch list format, assists in the writing of equipment and building specifications
Assists Facility Manager as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma / GED
Five years' progressive experience as an electrician, maintenance mechanic, maintenance machine repairer, plumber, pipe fitter, carpenter, heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) specialist, or related applicable experience
Experience in controls and ladder logic
Accepts and gives constructive criticism
Self-starter, aware, ability to generate ideas and communicate those ideas in a team environment
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
Preferred candidate will hold Journeyman Electrician credential
Available to work extended or flexible schedule on short notice as needed
Ability to exert 10 pounds of force frequently
May occasionally exert 20 pounds to 50 pounds of force (with assistance, if needed)
