Experience:
GS-07 Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes interpreting & applying rules & regulations related to personnel programs, i.e., relocations, retention, promotions, passports/visa, awards/decoration, adverse actions, career development, etc. NOTE:
Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. This is a developmental position hiring at the GS-07 level targeted to the GS-08. All training must be completed and regulatory requirements met prior to promotion. This position will hire at either the GS-07 or Gs-08. This position is covered by the Luevano Consent Decree. Selected applicants at the GS-7 grade level will be required to take and successfully pass the Administrative Careers with America (ACWA) assessment. Should you be required to take the ACWA assessment, you will be given further instructions. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-08 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. Due to the use of 120 day rosters, applicants within 120 days of completion of the TIG requirement are encouraged to apply. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
l. Knowledge of military human resources technology, requirements, procedures, operations, functions, and regulatory policy and procedural requirements applicable to the Career Development Branch of the MPF. 2. Knowledge of rules, procedures, Department of State, Department of Defense and Air Force directives and instructions, and operations that apply to the employee in order to perform the procedural work of the office for preparing and processing official passports and visas. The employee will be trained and certified in accordance of training requirements of the State Department. 3. Knowledge of current Air Force personnel data systems, procedures and practices in relationship to Career Development functions. 4. Knowledge and ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, procedures, and standard safety and health practices relating to passport and visa applications. 5. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports on any subordinate employees, orders for military personnel, spreadsheets, databases, graphs, government computer programs/systems, and official government documents as it relates to Career Development functions and passport and visa requests. 6. Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and formation to be able to accurately prepare and edit documents, written correspondence, reports, and charts. 7. Ability to plan, organize work and meet deadlines. 8. Ability to speak distinctly and communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and maintain effective work relationships. Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK
Experience:
Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
