Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience performing a variety of administrative and clerical duties such as maintaining and de-conflicting calendars, receiving, screening, and referring visitors/phone calls; responding to inquiries verbally and in writing, arranging meetings, reviewing correspondence for grammar, punctuation, format; establishing files/records; typing a variety of products in support of an organization. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-07 grade/level or equivalent position in the federal service. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-08 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. Due to the use of 120 day rosters, applicants within 120 days of completion of the TIG requirement are encouraged to apply. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of extensive rules, procedures, or operations applied to secretarial and clerical assignments to perform the procedural and administrative work of the office, such as preparing and editing documents, locating and assembling information for various reports, maintaining flies/records, and making and preparing travel arrangements. Knowledge of office functions and commitments of supervisor and staff to prepare and review correspondence, to screen telephone calls and visitors, to maintain supervisor's calendar, and to perform other substantive or administrative work of the organization. Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and expertly edit written correspondence, reports, and transcribed material. Knowledge of word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual documents such as letters, reports, memos, and form letters. Skill in typing; a qualified typist is required. Ability to locate, assemble, and compose information for reports, inquiries, and non-technical correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. Knowledge and skill in application of procedures, methods, and techniques which support the analysis and administration of the budget and of a wide variety of budgetary methods, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and precedents. Experience:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
